Pink french tip manicure! Great for Spring.

So here is a twist to the classic white tip manicure! Pink(my favorite color!) tip manicure!
I though this would be a great way to "change it up". And it's great for short nails. :)
You can use any color, that's what is great about this.
To the left are the products I used.
Zoya in Kali for the pink tips.
Sally Hansen Complete Salon
Manicure in Shall We Dance? over
top. Then I touched "Kali" so it stayed
bright. Then used Maybelline
Express Finish base and top coat for my top
coat.
I also used the french tip polish guides
to help with my first application
of "Kali".
Hope you enjoyed and I hope you give this look a try!

DIY French Manicure! Anyone can do this!

The most classic nail look and it's so easy. Some think it can be difficult but with some practice it is simple! This is great for finger and toe nails!
Products needed:
Orange stick to push down cuticles
A nail file
French polish tip guides
White polish
A sheer pink polish (I like Kim-Pletely in Love by Nicole by OPI and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Shall We Dance?)
Clear top coat
*You can buy one of those French Manicure sets but make sure the pink is sheer and not too dark. I bought one by Nailene and the pink covered the white. Not good. I wasn't paying attention to that so I wanted to make you guys aware of that.

All you gotta do it put the tip guides on all nails. Paint with white and let dry. If it messes up just take some polish remover on an old makeup brush(a flat one) and clean it up. No need to start over, it can usually be fixed. Then top with one or two coats of the sheer pink. I can use two coasts of the above polishes and it looks great. :) Again, let that coat dry before adding the top coat. And boom, you're done! haha! :D
Here is what I did yesterday:

It's so cute and looks good even on short nails! My nails refuse to grow long and healthy no matter what I try. o.O But I still want cute nails. :)
I love the Kim-Pletely In Love because it has green shimmers in it. It's very subtle but enough to add an extra touch.

Hope your week is going well! Take care!!

Polka dot nails!!

This is a cute way to do your nails. It's so fast and easy and looks great on all nails lengths! Grab 2 colors and a toothpick(or dotting tool if you're fancy!!) and polka dot away.

As you can see, I chose pink and black. I painted all my nails pink (with Zoya's Kali) except my ring finger which I painted black (Revlon Black Lingerie). I did two coats of each and let dry completely. Then I dipped the toothpick in the opposite color and made random dots all over. Let the dots dry for an hour before applying the clear coat because some can be pretty thick with polish. I made the mistake of not waiting long enough and some of my dots smeared. :( Boo!
But that's it! A very easy, cute manicure!

Have fun!

Zoya polish update!!

I took these pictures on the 2nd of March. So the polish was on my nails for 5 days when the picture was taken. I also did an experiment. I put a base coat on one hand only. They don't work for me ever. But I was gifted one by Sally Hansen from my aunt, so I wanted to test it out.
Without base coat::

With the base coat::

The one with started chipping! GAH! It would have lasted so much longer! I am so impressed with Zoya! I will definitely get more!!
Do base coats work for you? Or I am the only one they don't work for?! LOL

Happy Sunday!!

My Smoothie Recipe!

I have been on a major smoothie kick lately. I have one everyday for breakfast, they are so good! And keep me full until lunchtime. So I wanted to share it with you guys!
(Sorry I didn't post yesterday! It totally slipped my mind. I can't believe I didn't even turn on the computer yesterday!!)
Anyway, here is what I use:

1/2 cup of frozen strawberries
1/2 cup of mixed berries(blueberries, blackberries and raspberries)
1/2 cup of milk
1 6oz container of yogurt. I like to use vanilla
Sometimes I add a banana

Put everything in the blender:
Blend it all for a minute or until it is well blended. If the strawberries are large, it could take awhile.

Pour into and glass and enjoy! <3

Happy Friday!!!!

How to make your own glitter phone case!

This is so easy!
I had first bought this clear case because of an idea I saw on Pinterest. The idea I saw was taking a clear case and inserting different crafting paper in it for a cheap way to get different phone cases. Total FAIL on my part. LOL I just didn't think it looked good. So I thought, what the heck am I gonna do with a clear case? It looks kind of lame just having it on my phone. And then an idea popped into my head: GLITTER NAIL POLISH! LOL
It took two coats of polish and maybe half the bottle. After I applied the two coats I brushed on a clear coat to seal it in place and make it smooth. I let the clear coat dry for about 2 hours or until it is no longer tacky. And BAM! A new phone case. I bought the case for $3 on Amazon. If you don't have glitter polish and want to try this, you can check out Sinful Colors(find at Walgreens) because they have many glitter colors. And it's only $1.99 a bottle!
This will work for any phone as long as you can find a clear case for it! Just had to share this with you guys!! Hope you're having a great day!

I HAD to!! :)

I was watching sayanythingbrOOke on Youtube and I believe it was her nail polish collection video, but I could be wrong..Anyway, she was showing a nail polish color and the name of it was Brooke, he name! And she said she just had to get it. So I thought, "Hey, my name is pretty cool right? I may have a polish out there with my name as the color as well". So to google I went. I typed in "Kali nail polish" and it came up. I clicked on it and there it was. And in my favorite color
too!
Here it is:

Do you have a polish in your collection with your name on it? Let me know the name and brand!

DIY: Make your own unique cover for your nook!! Or other e-reader.

I decided today I would make my own cover for my Nook! So I Youtubed "How to make a hollow book" and I watched this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mS1XZOW4KWc
Quick, simple and to the point. I had bought this owl journal awhile ago at Ross. I have had it probably a year. So I figured this would be the perfect book and my Nook fit in there well. It was only $5 so a very cheap Nook cover.
The whole process probably took 4 hours! Yes, really! It is simple but time consuming. And the whole waiting for the glue to dry thing...LOL
I am so proud of myself. I have a pretty awesome looking Nook cover. It's way better than my basic black one I had. And I didn't have to spend a bunch to get it! The black straps that hold my Nook in are the ones from my black one. My black one had 4, so even though I took out 2, the two still in it holds the Nook so I will still be able to use it. :) YAY! I am so excited and I just had to share with you guys! I thought doing this would be hard but it's not so give it a try!
Here it is:

Pretty cute right?! HA!
Happy Monday!! <3

Review Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips.

I have been VERY hesitant in buying this product. Number one, it seems very expensive for what it is and I highly doubted it would last more than a couple days. I was browsing the cosmetic section of my local Rite Aid and noticed some Sally Hansen products were 75% off, including some of the nail polish strip colors. So I figured, why not. I will pick a couple to try. After the discount it was about 2.50. The one pictured is Violet Night. I also got a pink one, I forget the name.
I applied them February 14th. They didn't even last 3 days on me. I followed every direction given.
Here is a picture of them today, February 19th:

YUCK! :/ I couldn't keep them on any longer. LOL
I am not happy with this product at ALL and I will stick to my old fashioned bottle of nail polish that lasts longer than this!! For $9.99 retail, that is a major rip off, in my opinion. These are not worth it. Go buy yourself a bottle of OPI instead. You'll get way more uses.
Let me know what you think of these!

*TAG*: 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty

1. Greed.
What is your most inexpensive and most expensive beauty item?
My most inexpensive would be my elf eye shadow primer, which was only $1! And my most expensive would be my Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette, which I believe was $52 when I bought it.
2. Wrath.
What beauty product do you have a love/hate relationship with?
What product has been hardest to get?
I have a love/hate relationship with loose mineral eye shadows. I want to love them because they are so pretty but I have a hard time working with them until I press them. The hardest to get, for me, was my original Naked palette. Every time I had money, it was sold out. LOL
3. Gluttony.
What are you most delicious beauty products?
My lips smacker chap sticks! Love the smells!
4. Sloth.
What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
Concealer. Sometimes I just don't feel like taking another step...LOL
5. Pride.
What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
I would say my foundation because my skin is red and blotchy. I like how foundation makes it even.
6. Lust.
What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
Eyes and hands.
7. Envy.
What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
Eye shadow palettes. I just can't get enough!

If you're reading this, you're TAGGED!!

Have a good weekend!

Small drugstore haul!

I haven't gotten myself anything in awhile, so the other day I picked up some things I had been eyeing for awhile(except the mascara, it's an old fave) and a couple new items that caught my eye.
If you would like to see swatches or more detail, please let me know!

So I got:
Jessie's Girl nail polish in JulieG. I wanted it because I am a big fan of hers and I don't have a color like this in my small polish collection. I got Maybelline One by One. It is my fave right now. I got the Revlon Photoready Color Correcting Primer. Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough As Taupe. And two WetNWild trios in Silent Treatment and Walking on Eggshells.
I have used both of the palettes and I like Silent Treatment the best. I will do an eye look post soon!

Am I the only one that has one of these...?

So, this isn't about beauty but I wanted to see if any of you guys have one of these in your kitchen?!
It's a kitchen witch!!!

I have her hanging by my sink. It was passed down to me when my mom passed away. She bought her probably 14 years ago. My mom was in a little shop in Whitehorse, Yukon and saw it. Then the shop clerk told my mom all about the history of the kitchen witch. She said you hang her some where in your kitchen to ward off bad spirits and provide you and your home with good luck. So this is a good witch.
It is a great conversation piece because not many people know about kitchen witches. I think every kitchen should have a kitchen witch. :)

This is probably one of my favorite eye looks and I wear it often! I get so many compliments on it. <3

Super easy pasta salad!!!

So obviously this isn't a beauty post today. Ha! I made this last night and wanted to share with you guys because it is so good and so easy!!

Ingredients:
1 medium red onion
1/2 of a red bell pepper
1/2 of an orange bell pepper
1/2 of a yellow bell pepper
2 boxes of tri-color rotini(12oz each)
Kraft Zesty Italian dressing,16oz bottle(it really doesn't matter the brand but I have tried all and Kraft is my fave, if you don't like Kraft though, don't use it).

Get your water boiling and pour the two boxes in and boil following the directions on the box
While those are cooking, cut up your veggies and put them in a big mixing bowl.

When the noodles are done, strain them and rinse with cool water since this is a cold salad.

Then pour them into the mixing bowl on top of the veggies. Add about half the bottle of dressing to the salad(more or less depending on what you like). Mix and stick it in the fridge to get colder. About 30mins or so.

Serve and ENJOY!

I like to make this for potlucks because I don't have to worry about keeping it hot or cold. I can just set it out and it's fine. Plus it's rare I bring leftovers home, everyone loves this stuff!

Hope you enjoy! Let me know if you would like to see more recipes!
